Marine Hydrating Facial at Plateau Spa

Treatment: Marine Hydrating Facial

Price: $1,250

Time: 1 hour

The vibe: Plateau Spa has been designed with a Japanese zen aesthetic in mind. Think warm wood, lots of greenery and enormous stone bathtubs in the spa suites for a pre- or post-treatment soak.

When to go: Facials are typically recommended about a week ahead – in case of any adverse reactions.

The gist: Constantly battling dry skin, we tried the Marine Hydrating Facial. The hour-long treatment harnesses a clutch of Thalgo’s Source Marine products, all powered by marine ingredients such as algae and minerals. After the usual cleansing and toning came the mask. The therapist brushed a thick layer of Ultra Hydra Marine Mask all over our skin – even covering our lips. It slowly hardened and was peeled off after about 10 minutes. A relaxing head, shoulder, neck and arm massage put us to sleep as
we waited.

How’s the service? You’re in good hands. The therapists are warm and highly skilled, tailoring treatments to your personal skin goals and concerns.

About the snacks: The treatment finished with a pot of steamy ginger tea and a bowl of fresh fruit.

What else: A few of the spa suites double as hotel rooms, in case you’re keen to treat yourself to a relaxing staycation ahead of the big day.
