The Vibe: A recent opening from the Aman resorts group, Amanyangyun delivers ultra-lux services, a traditional village setting and an extensive camphor forest. All of the Ming- and Qing-dynasty villas, plus thousands of camphor trees, were relocated from Fuzhou where they risked demolition, then reconstructed outside of Shanghai. Within the 10-hectare grounds, couples can choose from a slew of romantic wedding venues, including a peaceful garden, a tree-hugged banqueting room, or even a tailor-made wedding ceremony at one of the heritage villas.
Wedding Style: Sustainable soiree, heritage hurrah, Shanghai escapades
Best Part: The hotel is just outside of Shanghai, which means your guests will enjoy convenient flights from Hong Kong and a massive city to explore.
Psst… If you’re dreaming up a woodland wedding, this is the place. Thought to be full of positive spiritual energy, camphor trees have long been considered sacred in Chinese culture.
Catering: With five restaurants on site, Amanyangyun creates bespoke menus, ranging from Chinese to Japanese, or elegant western cuisine.
Capacity: The hotel can host up to 154 guests across the 51 rooms and villas, while a bamboo-hugged Banqueting Room allows for 180 seated guests; 400 standing.
